Credit for Prior Learning Committee — Co-Chair

As Co-Chair of Fullerton College’s Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Committee, I help lead a college-wide initiative to recognize the knowledge students have already earned through work, military service, industry certifications, and life experience — and translate it into college credit. We are designing the policies, faculty review processes, and equity-centered practices that let students accelerate their path to a degree, reduce time and cost to completion, and enter the workforce sooner. This work removes barriers, honors prior achievement, and positions the college as a leader in flexible, learner-centered education.

As a member of the Strategic Enrollment and Retention Committee (SERC) — reporting jointly to the Faculty Senate and the President’s Advisory Council — I helped draft and operationalize the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan. Our charge was to design and continually refine data-informed strategies that grow student enrollment, retention, persistence, and completion, while aligning campus-wide efforts behind a shared vision for student success.

RNL Enrollment Steering Committee (NOCCCD District)

On this district steering committee, I partnered with Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) to map regional markets and forecast new-student enrollment from 2023–2033. We analyzed shifting high-school cohorts, a projected 32% decline in Los Angeles–region transfers, and a stable adult-learner population, then translated those insights into targeted recruitment strategies to strengthen enrollment across the North Orange County Community College District.

As a long-serving member of the Fullerton College Curriculum Committee, I upheld the faculty’s primary responsibility for shaping curriculum and maintaining academic standards, as established under California’s community college reforms. I actively reviewed, revised, and developed new courses and programs within the BUS/CIS Division — ensuring each offering is relevant, innovative, and aligned with student success, transfer readiness, and evolving industry needs on the college’s six-year review cycle.
